Ciao ladies!

Pain is inevitable, suffering is optional…..

I have no idea who originated this quote, but it is brilliant! The Dalai Lama, Haruki Murakami, and M. Kathleen Casey, have all been named as originators of this quote! This post was inspired by a friend who is going through a tough time. I was thinking about her when I received a download about this quote. We are all going to experience pain on various levels, we cannot escape pain, it is part of the human experience. Pain makes us grow spiritually. Some may argue that suffering makes us grow spiritually as well. That is true, but I believe it is unnecessary.

We can choose not to suffer by controlling our thoughts. I remember watching an Oprah special, and I believe Tony Robbins was a guest. I will never forget this exercise because it is extremely powerful! He asked the audience to close their eyes, then he says, imagine an apple, now throw it away, imagine an orange, now throw it away, imagine this, now throw it away. He asked, “What did you learn?” “When you have any type of thought that comes in your brain, you can throw it away!” GENIUS. And it is sooooooo true!! You don’t have to hold on to negative thoughts! You can throw them away and create new ones! You can shift your thought pattern to positivity! I encourage you to do this whenever negative thoughts show up because they will! We can change our reality if we choose, there is no reason to suffer! We were meant to live abundantly! Choose happy thoughts, happy things, happy surroundings!
